on Friday my dear friend Parker turned 16, so my good friend, Kaitlyn, wanted to take him on his first date.
PROBLEM.
Parker was in St. George for a soccer tournament--so OBVIOUSLY she had to go to St. George to take him on his first date.
PROBLEM.
When you first start dating you can't go on single dates-- so OBVIOUSLY Paige and I had to come too so it was a triple date!! :) Road Trip!!
So it went something like this. Paige and I arrive at Kaitlyn's house around 2ish. We get all our stuff ready, get in the car, and drive to Smith's for munchies for the car!
Then we are on the road!
The drive is 4 hours to be exact so we had plenty of time to sleep-party-gossip-chinese fire drill.
We had time for anything ;)
So...
-we played would you rather ((with quite some funny one about this one guy that will go un-named))
-we listen to music ((hip hop, country, rap we love it ALL))
-we stick our heads out the windows((super exhilarating if you haven't tried it ;)))
-and we took some model photos((shown below))
there are more on kaitlyn and paige's phone but I don't have them...anyway we drove 4 hours with no stops ((could YOUR bladder handle that?))
and we got there at 6 with an hour to kill because K's grandpa wasn't expecting us until 7
so we were going to get some kind of REAL food and not the junk we'd been snacking on the whole time.
Fanny Mae ((Kaitlyn's little sister whose name isn't really Fanny Mae)) wanted Wendy's and kept reminding us about... every 5 seconds... "Wendy's! Wendy's! Wendy's"
But the rest of us wanted Jamba Juice.
WE came to find out... St. George has NO Jamba Juice :'(
So naturally we just go to Iceberg.
I wasn't hungry so I thought I'd just get a little vanilla ice cream cone ((I come to find out the small was actually GINORMOUS))
Paige wasn't hungry either so she got a small twist cone.
Kaitlyn ((who was SUPPOSED to just be eating fruits and veggies)) got an order of onion rings ((which turned out to be huge too))
R-dog ((Kaitlyn's older sister and driver)) got a banana split with too much syrup
And Fanny Mae... I don' know what she got.
So we sat in the car in the parking lot and ate ((we're cool))

After Iceberg we drove to Grandpa's dropped off our stuff, dropped off R-dog and Fanny Mae, got all cute, and we were off to get the boys :)
We go up to their hotel room. I knock on the door then hide ((they didn't know I was coming))
Ethan and Parker say goodbye to the people in the room and I pop out of nowhere.
Ethan's exact words, "Whoa. what the."
Yup. that's all he said. Lame. I was so excited and I got THAT reaction.
So then I say "where's Tayvin??" ((because he's the only other 16 year old and I obviously need a date))
PROBLEM.
Tayvin isn't at the hotel.
Tayvin is at Winger's.
So we drove around for a while looking for a Winger's but... no dice.
((note: surprises aren't what you think they'll be just ask in advance))
I decided before I ruin their date any more we should probably do what we planned.
I drive them to the outlet mall and the girls explain the game to the guys.
Game: Hide n' Go Seek.
One couple hides in a store and sends a picture of them somewhere in the store to the other couples
First couple to find them wins.
They all say that sounds fun :) then they turn and look at me....
"You can stay in the car Amy..."
Cool. I just drove 4 hours to go on a date and I don't have one.
Oh well, I guess I'll just have to laugh about.
So I start texting Brady because I KNOW he'll come to my rescue.
nope.
He's watching a game 15 minutes away that I have no idea where it is.
so...
I just play hide n' go seek and be the 5th wheel to a double date.
It was pretty fun except for occasionally being scolded by ethan for asking people on dates in advance.
But it was actually WAY fun :)
While playing Hide n Seek we met... Sir Wooliam. And we decided HE could be my date :)
After Hide n' Go Seek we went to Menchie's

This is Parker and Kaitlyn
I didn't get anything because I really didn't want any...
So Parker fed me some of theirs ((uh-oh! I wasn't his date..))
that didn't sit too well with Kaitlyn.
so we had a showdown.
Kaitlyn won... only because she was his date ;) haha
After frozen yogurt we went to a park that was lamer than lame. So we laid in the middle of a HUGE field and looked at the stars. It was beautiful :)
Parker and Ethan had to be home by 11, it was 10:43
"Time to get Cinderella home!"
PROBLEM.
Parker wasn't staying at the hotel. And he didn't know how to get to the house where he was staying. All he had... was an address.
And half of it was a name. Not numbers that could be easily found.
Well... not to pat myself on the back or anything but I found that house! In St. George! In the dark no less!
Then we took Ethan home and got him there at 11:04... darn. 4 minutes late.
After dropping off the boys us girls went to Smith's, to get a movie.
While looking for a movie and me something to eat because my stomach finally caught up with me, we found this magazine and decided I looked JUST like him.
We bought Pirates 4 and I let Kaitlyn drive home because she so desperately wanted to ((I don't blame her that car was NICE. I felt pretty hot driving it ;) just sayin))
We get home, try and hook the DVD player up to the tv = FAIL, so eventually we all fell asleep.
For breakfast we had granola ((super good))
and packed up all our stuff... and we were off!!
After driving for 2 hours we got hungry.
We got off an exit where we THOUGHT there was an Arby's. That was a fail too because it was in fact NOT an Arby's. So we made like chickens and crossed the road over to Wendy's.
After lunch we were on the road again.
Paige and Kaitlyn fell asleep, so R, Fanny, and I played the ABC game ((I won twice))
Then I fell asleep too....
We be muchos gracias tired!

Then the next thing we knew we were home.
Back to Orem.
Back to reality.
Back to the cold.
