Beat this summer

BACK A WHILE....

I had the AMAZING opportunity to go to my very first concert and see:
BRAD PAISLEY

Oh my good golly it was UNREAL.
Well first he is absolutely GORGEOUS but there were other things too ;)

This is how the night went...
Janale picked me up. She, me, and our cowgirl boots were ready to have some fun!
We were driving up and stopped at McDonalds to feed poor Janale who had been at work all day.

Eventually we got to the USANA amphitheather and the parking was crazy! Seriously there was like 8 to choose from.. yeah we definitely needed to memorize where our car was or we'd be in big trouble later.
We trekked to the gate. Spun a couple of wheels at different country radio stations that were there. I won a free shirt and a keychain! Whoo! Also a bottle opener but seeing as I didn't need that... I didn't take it.
We got through the gate and I still couldn't believe this was happened I was too dang excited!!
First it was The Henningsens. A new group that no one really knows--they were pretty good.
Then Lee Brice. I LOVE Lee Brice, his voice is amazing and I  just like all of his songs.

We got a little artsy with our picture taking.. haha anyway.
After Lee Brice was Chris Young, another favorite of mine. Alright I'll be honest I pretty  much love ALL country singers.. Chris Young was really good he had this great stage presence and was fun with the audience.
Oh PS the people sitting next to me were drinking beer (ok. Let's be honest. Who WASN'T drinking beer there) And they left for a little bit but left her can there....

"What happens at Brad Paisley stays at Brad Paisley"
Haha! Ok just kidding I didn't really drink any, just took a picture:)
We sent this picture to our Miss Orem director thinking that she would just die but she thought it was hilarious!

Anyway. The moment had finally come.
The sun had set. It was dark. All the other artists were done. We were just waiting...
Then all the sudden in the midst of the darkness up on stage you could see his white hat. Everyone started SCREAMING. Myself included. I couldn't help it, IT WAS BRAD PAISLEY!!
He started the show with one of my favorite songs of his: Southern Comfort Zone
It was incredible. He is SO good live. Plus there was this cool screen behind him that had graphic going the whole time. Oh man, I loved it.

But seriously. Brad Paisley is so good. He was entertaining to watch, he definitely knew what to do to keep his audience's attention.
For example, Brad Paisley switches guitars in the MIDDLE of every song to make sure that it's still in tune. Crazy.
Oh my.  Listen to this! During the middle of one of his songs, He took off his guitar, which was normal he always does that. He kneels down, pulls out a sharpie, signs it, AND GIVES IT TO THIS LITTLE GIRL IN THE AUDIENCE!! Seriously?!?! Unbelievable.

Hah, He ran through the audience which was hard to keep your eye on him, but he was there to put on a show and he did! I wish he would've ran by me... I was by the aisle. If only I could've touched him..
Also. He would let the audience sing, he would sing some then let the audience sing some. And if you didn't know the words.. man that's embarrassing.

Another thing, he says "So do you want to hear my lousy, good for nothing, extremely talented bandmates, earn their money? Let's see how fast they can play this song" And they played a song.. SO FAST. It was ridiculous.
His violinist was CRAZY good. Holy cow, that guy could play. And the drummer was rocking out, the beat just rocked my socks off. The keyboardist... oh man. They were just so dang good!

Brad Paisley is just a classy guy. Yes he is very attractive. Yes he is extremely talented in the singing/guitaring/performing area. But while he would sing his songs, they would play tributes to other country music stars. The old good classic ones. Plus he relentlessly joked about Lee Brice and Chris Young:)  For example: "This song goes out to Lee and Chris.. and all you other guys out there that are whipped"

So you know the song, Remind me? The one he sings with Carrie Underwood? Well. he starts singing that one. He sings his part then it gets to Carrie's part. You hear her voice.. then this sparkly figure slowly comes into vision on stage..
OH MY GOSH IT'S CARRIE UNDERWOOD!!!
Janale and I start screaming and nearly DIE from heart attack, we LOVE her.
But..not all dreams come true.. It was just her on an extremely great quality screen so she LOOKED real but it wasn't her. :( I almost started crying I was so sad.
Also:
During the last song he just threw his hat out into the audience. sigh. I want his hat... and guitar. Or even just a hug from him would suffice.

Anyway. It was beyond anything I had expected and I was SO glad I got to go.
Brad Paisley is so talented.
HIs voice is dreamy  and he seriously was so fun to watch.
At the end of the concert, the projected (it looked like a swimming pool) and he threw in his guitar. And then jumped in. I was pretty cool even though my description of it wasn't.

After the concert, Janale and journeyed to find our car and after what seemed like hours of searching (it was MAYBE 25 minutes--pushing 30) we drove home.
Of course listening to Brad the whole way home:)

I got home at 1:30 and had to be up at 4. I really really REALLY wanted to sleep--but I couldn't.
I stayed up all night.
Then had to go be a beautiful pleasant princess with the royalty at 5 in the morning. YUCK.

It helped for about an hour then had nothing to do.
I get bored easy so I had to find something to. Well, there was a 6 seater golf cart RIGHT by where we were. Slowly but surely I hijacked it. And got the rest of the royalty to come with. We were having a blast! Taking turns driving and chinese fire drills and what not.
Well it was all fun and games until Brenna was driving and she took a sharp turn---Janale and I were thrown from the cart straight onto the concrete.
It all happened so fast. All I remember was it hurt. A LOT.
My head was hurting. My knees were hurting. My arms. My elbows. My wrists.
But there was no time for pain, I had to get up and pretend like everything was ok.
Because this was serious, we had gotten hurt at an event which entailed law suits and crap.
No time to be in pain.
But Janale didn't get away with the little injuries I did. She rolled her ankle and could barely walk.

Thanks to the brat ladies that came up to us while we are lying on the ground after literally eating the cement.
"Um. You guys are going to have to sign a waiver"

OH HEY LADY, I'M FINE THANKS FOR ASKING!
After we told her we already had. She said:
"OH good, then you guys can lay out in the road all you want."
witch.

Needless to say-- we didn't get to play in the golf cart anymore, Brenna felt pretty dang embarrassed, Janale and I were bruised broken and bloodied, not to mention she and I were super grouchy from staying up so late the night before...

But man, we sure did have fun:)
