I went to prom with my best friend :) Michael Thomas Lunt.
Our journey began like this...
I wake up one morning. Get ready for school. Head out to my car. Open my car door and BAM!
I nearly died because I thought it was a REAL bomb. Once I realized that it wasn't. I ran inside to show my parents and then hurried off to school. While at school everyone was asking "Who is it from?" "Who asked you?" And quite frankly I didn't know for sure... but I had a sneaking suspicion :)
I finally figured out how to "disarm" the bomb and found his name inside. Michael Thomas Lunt.
I was pretty darn excited:) So then I had to find a way to answer him. I wanted it to be really cool but it ended up being... mediocre. But it's ok, it was something to remember:)
I called his mom to find a way to get in his car. But instead... she just brought the car over! So then I filled up his car with balloons and put a poem on his windshield. The poem was pretty clever... and the balloon that had my yes it it, was really tiny and I hid it in the glove box. He didn't find it until he had popped all of the balloons.
Prom was getting closer and closer and I realized something... this was my last prom.. and I was going with my best friend! How could it get any better? :)
Well, sadly the boys chose to do the day date then night before. But the night before was my dance company end of the year concert :( And prom is important but there is NO WAY I was missing that concert. I felt bad I couldn't go.. because I really wanted to! They were laser tagging on the golf course, how fun is that?! The answer.. really fun.
My concert went really well and Bubba came to see it :) Afterwards I went home and changed really fast and the two of us set off to meet up with the group (they were at the golf course)
So we got to the golf course and with a small bit of assistance from Pres. Stratton we were in a golf cart and soon were cruisin in the dark to go find our group. It was an absolutely perfect night, a bit on the chilly side. But it was just fun driving in the golf cart :) A little bit scary in the dark, but I was with someone who could protect me :)
We eventually found the group. And EVENTUALLY set up the projector and projector screen, and then once it was all set up... we had a little mini drive in movie. Each couple in their own little golf cart. Cute:)
I wasn't cold at first but it got cold REAL quick. Bubs had a blanket (which by the way I'm afraid to announce I hogged most of it) but it was still chilly. So we just had to cuddle up real close.
Well. One problem. I am the WORST at watching movies. I'll tell you why:
- If I have seen it, even just ONCE: I'll quote most of the lines. I think I'm doing it in my head but I guess I end up doing it verbally
- If I haven't seen it and I have a dying desire to see it, I'll be so into the movie I'll either cry or laugh a lot by the end. Also, no one can say a word otherwise I get grumpy and yell to be quiet.
- If I haven't seen the movie but don't really have much interest in it and I'm cold and on a date and cuddling with my best friend... I talk. And I talk a lot.
......THE NEXT DAY...
Bubba felt bad that he hadn't taken me on a real day date. Which is silly because he did! Remember? We had a drive in movie last night?
I guess he forgot or something :)
Well for our personal day date, he took me four wheeling and shooting.
OBVIOUSLY he knows me well because I LOVE doing those. I was surprised to find that I got to drive my own ATV. Which I was TOTALLY fine because I like to be in control... and I kind of like to go fast.. But I was expecting to ride on the back of his and hold on tight ;) But driving my own was just as fun!
So once we had picked out a spot. My very own mountain man made a BLAZING fire. While I got to shoot at Barney with a target on him. I may not be dead on... but I'm not too shabby with a gun. So don't get on my bad side.
Also. When holding a gun I get like 20 times hotter so I'm contemplating ALWAYS having a gun just so I look attractive all the time. Maybe I should be a cop or something...
Well, we cooked our tin foil dinners we had made previous to the departure of this trip but silly goose Bubba forgot forks. So we made our own! Probably not the most sanitary thing in the world but hey. What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger! Then we roasted marshmallows, which by the way I'm pro at. I mean Bubba is pretty good.. but he doesn't come close to my golden mallow! Then our outing in the wild came to an end and he took me home.
I got ready and what not.... then he picked me up... and
HOLY MOLY he looked fabulous! Oh man.. I could try and describe him but there just aren't words. But I will say this... we looked pretty good together ;) But really.. He looked stellar!
So I walk outside with him and what do I see? (not popcorn!) A LIMO. Alright. Pretty sure I could just die now. Life was complete (well almost. we still had to go to the dance and stuff) The limo was snazzy with its non-eglish speaking driver, empty brandy bottles, and sunroof :) Anyway, we picked up all the girls and met one of the guy's sisters at the golf course to take pictures. Pictures went super fast! And I got to hold a duckling! It was great! Here's a little taste of the pictures... yeah the smokin hot one, third in from the left That's MY date.
Dinner. We ate in the clubhouse(?) where we had a delicious dinner served to us by the boys lovely younger sisters :) Um. pretty sure I could've eaten 10 pounds of the carrots we ate. So good.
Then it was off to the dance! Also. Each of the couples got a disposable camera to use at their dispense (who knew they still even made those! Not me.) It was a way cute idea and I loved the outcome of the pictures, even if they weren't perfect.
The dance was... to be absoultely frank.. a sweaty hot mess. But it was also the funnest dance I've ever been to. Although I wasn't by my date the whole time (and I'm sure he'd wished I had) I'm hoping he'll forgive me :)
Then. Next surprise. There was fireworks. I love fireworks. And the fact that we watched them on a balcony at prom? Seriously the cutest. Then we danced some more and like all good things do... it came to an end.
We left the dance and went to go find... Jose? Roberto? Juan? I think it was Efrain...
Once reunited with our limo we left the dance and went to good ole Wendy's where we order. I think 20 frostys through the sunroof no less! We ate our frostys and went to Garett's house. But once we got there we all realized how tired we were so we left each in our own separate cars.
Bubs took me home. Had a little doorstep scene. And then. It was over.
All in all it was AMAZING and I wouldn't have changed a thing :)
Thank you Michael Thomas Lunt for the greatest prom... ever :)
