{a concert. what?}

So once upon a time, it was a Saturday night. And my dad had arranged to go to this "Bar J Wranglers" concert. I wasn't really excited to go but--eh he got the tickets for all of the family. So I guess I'll amuse him this one time.

I left the Lone Peak Orem game early so we could go, but we still had about 2 hours until the concert started...

Then my sister said, "Amy come to the mall with me
I need to buy jeans." And I wasn't doing anything so I
said sure and went with her to the mall. ((that's her to the right by the way, I know she's pretty great))

So we get to the mall and Heidi says "Psych. We aren't getting jeans for me, we're getting them for you!" How she knew I needed them, I don't know...

Anyway, she decides we are going to to get these jeans from Buckle. So we went to Buckle and we're just looking at the jeans then out of the nowhere... "So what are you ladies looking for this evening?" It was a very handsome worker... excellent:)
We told him some jeans for me. He then asked what size, complimented me on my figure and told me what jeans would look good on me then whisked away to go find "the perfect jeans."

I tried on a bunch and he really was being SO helpful and honestly if I was rich, he would be my personal shopper. He was fantastic. But every time I talked to him I couldn't really concentrate because all I could think of was how much he looked, sounded, and acted like my dear friend Tyler Weenig.

This is Tyler. Yes. I know he is VERY good looking. He is one of my favorite people. And he's a lifeguard. AND he's a model ((just thought I'd throw that in)) But sorry ladies, back off, I don't like to share. But imagine how hard it was to talk to Eric ((my personal shopper)) who was Tyler, but older, darker hair, AND a little bit of facial hair goin' on. Yeah.
It was REALLY hard.

Anyway, I was in a bad mood because I just didn't want to spend Heidi's money and EVEN though it was for my birthday, I don't know. So I didn't want to be shopping anymore, but I didn't want to break Eric's heart either. So, I chose two pair of pants I really liked ((Heidi made me get both)) and then we went to buy them. Heidi said that no matter the price, I was worth it. Yeah... one of the pair of pants was $168.99. HOLY COW! ((yeah we're taking them back tomorrow, again we didn't want to hurt Eric's feelings. Seeing how he gets paid on comission and everything)) But man, who buys pants for that much?!

So we leave Buckle with our very expensive pants and Heidi said "Ok, now we're going to get your hair done." And as much as I LOVE getting my hair done I was being grumpy grumps and said "Heidi, why would I get my hair done, we're going to a concert and I am going to see NO one I know. I don't want to get my hair for nothing"

So I didn't get my hair done.

We go home and it's 7:45. Fifteen minutes until the concert ((that I DO NOT want to go to, but I am because my dad wanted to do something special for my birthday)) and Heidi tells me that I need to change and wear something "presentable." Why? I am not going to see anyone... whatever. So I change. And then she says that I should straighten my hair. Again, why? But I ran out of time so I just didn't straighten it.

It's 8:07. My dad still isn't home. DAD WHERE ARE YOU THE DUMB CONCERT STARTED SEVEN MINUTES AGO ((that's what I was thinking)) so I call him. "Father where are you?" He assures me he'll be home as fast as he can. He gets home. We pile in the car.

"Paul, do you have the tickets?"
"No, we have to go pick them up right now."

Well, we drive to the Lunts because Marcus gave the tickets to my dad.
And we pull in front of the Lunts and my dad says, "Amy will you go get them?"

Hmmm... why do I have to go get them... ((right about now in my mind, I'm hoping that I'll have a surprise birthday party or some kind of surprise. I don't know. I doubt it. I'll just go get the tickets and go to this dumb concert))

So I knock on the door. Bubba answers. "Yeah... I'm here for tickets... or something..?"
He says come in. And I say hey to Ruby and then Bubba says "Where are the tickets?" Ruby says downstairs I think. So Bubba gestures downstairs to me.

What? Why do I have to go get it?? It's YOUR house. I don't know where the tickets are!!

So as I'm walking down the stairs I KNOW something is up. But, I don't say anything. I turn the corner. Walk into the room, Bubba turns on the lights...

SURPRISE!!!  All my friends pop out of their hiding spots and I just can't believe what just happened.

My whole life I've always wanted a surprise birthday party and now I had one!

I look around the room and can't believe who I see. It's a little taste of each of the different groups of friends I have. It was like a high school reunion. And I haven't even graduated high school yet. It was the BEST!
